63 runways, 94 shows and 20 fashion events: just a few numbers around this Milan Women’s Fashion Week 2017.
The Milanese Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear is definitely over. The city welcomed a lot of visitors, fashion industry professionals, buyers but also tourists and fashion lovers. Hotels full nearly 90% and revenues around 17 million euros.
Castings. Models. Runways. Traffic. Parties…Everything as usual, but also fresh air this year!
At first, the Milan Fashion Chamber decided to focus on Sustainability as the key factor around which setting the future of this industry. Therefore, the first Green Carpet Fashion Awards, a sort of Oscar of Sustainable Fashion, took place last Sunday at Teatro alla Scala. The ceremony awarded stylists and labels respecting the environment and the social value of work.
Then, great attention to Young Talents. In addition to the Fashion Hub Market in Gae Aulenti square, Milan will allocate several free spaces for them. The purpose of Milan is to support and endorse new ideas coming from Italian and international designers. They’ve represented a 3.5 percent increase compared to 2016.
But the greatest event ever along the last Fashion Week was, no doubt, the reunion of the mythical top models of the ’90s! Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Carla Bruni and Cindy Crawford closed the Versace show. It’s impossible to describe the enthusiasm of the people. Many memories were evoked and a bit of nostalgia we all felt. Donatella Versace gave her tribute to his brother Gianni celebrating his creative genius with these incomparable fashion protagonists.
